2010 Open House and Plant Sale

Saturday, May 22, 9 am - 12 noon
at the Poughkeepsie Farm Project. At the junction of Raymond and Hooker Avenues in Poughkeepsie, take the gravel road toward the red farm buildings.
We are selling PFP-grown seeds and featuring potted plants grown from these seeds. All plants and seeds are certified naturally grown. Seeds for sale will include: arugula, beets, bush beans, dry beans, edamame, lettuces, peppers, and several varieties of tomatoes. Vegetable plants for sale include many varieties of tomatoes (including the popular Sun Gold Cherry and Brandywine), bell and hot peppers, eggplants, zucchini, melons, cucumbers, cabbage, broccoli, kale, collards, and onions. Dozens of varieties of both annual and perennial herbs and flowers also for sale.
Prices: $3 each for all 4-inch potted plants, $.50 each for individual plugs of brassicas and onions, $10 for hanging baskets of petunias, and a special offer this year: $6 for raspberry plant canes. All seed packets are $3.
This Saturday is also PFP member orientation! Plans include...
- A chance to meet/catch up with staff, interns, and other members at the member meet up cafe
- The first of many opportunities to sign up for CSA shareholder hours
- Tours of the farm and a walk through of a mock CSA distribution
- A plant and seed sale (suggested membership level and higher can redeem two free 4" plants)
- Information on PFP programs and volunteer opportunities
- Gray Horse Farm will be selling their own local, organic chicken, pork and eggs.
- Veritas Farms will be tabling to answer any questions their shareholders may have and also to recruit more shareholders.
