Past interns reflect on learning how to farm at the PFP:

The PFP future farmer/intern program provided me with a variety of tools necessary to run my own farm and CSA, including farming knowledge, time and task management, working with and coordinating with CSA members and other farmers, marketing and publicity, and CSA administration. Furthermore, it provided me with the confidence and support to challenge myself, to explore new elements of farming and CSA management, and to pursue farming as a career. Part way through the first season of managing my own farm and CSA, I am very grateful for my years as part of the PFP and for the continued support that I receive from that community.

The PFP got me hooked on farming as an art, as a science, as a challenge, as an exciting experiment. The well-planned workshops and Wendy and Asher's willingness to teach gave me a foundation for the concepts of farming. The many farm visits we were encouraged to attend showed me the diversity of farm systems and lifestyles that are possible. Seeing how supportive the organic farming community can be and having such a good time working at the PFP made me want to pursue farming further.
