Spring Appeal Supports PFP Programs ~ "Double Your Money"
By Anne Gardon
This spring, as seeds are sown into the earth on our farm, the PFP is reaching out to our network of members, friends and supporters for their financial support in underwriting the cost of PFP's educational and food justice programs for the coming season. Each of the past three years, the PFP Board of Directors has led a fundraising drive by setting up a "match" that effectively doubles every dollar donated to the PFP.
We are proud to announce the PFP Board's $5,000 matching pledge for 2011.
At our April meeting, PFP Board members reflected on and shared their answers to the question: “What does the PFP mean to you?” After looking into their hearts, each one reached into their pockets to made a financial pledge. This committed group of 12 people, who share their time and talents as volunteers and leaders, together pledged a matching gift of $5,000.
In the same spirit, we hope you will reflect on the value of the PFP in your life and our community and make a gift to support the proverbial spring planting season.
- Your $50 gift means that the PFP will receive $100 to facilitate experiences for local youth to be inspired by hands-on cooking, gardening and farming.
- Your $100 gift provides $200 toward ensuring that our low-income neighbors can get fresh and healthy produce in Poughkeepsie this season.
Don't miss this once a year opportunity to double your support ~ make your gift by check or online today!
Remember: Any gift you make between now and May 31st will double your support.
