Volunteering in the Farm Fields and Gardens
This is a bountiful part of the season! Harvesting produce, controlling weeds and staying on top of farm field projects combine with the season for harvesting seeds and herbs to keep our farm crew very busy. It’s this time of year that we also bid farewell to our summer interns, with our gratitude to Chloe, Katrina and Carlos for all their hard work.
A busy time in the season combined + farewell to our summer interns = a good time to volunteer! If you are interested in getting out in the fields, please consider doing so before the weather takes a turn for the cooler – the available times are here.
The meditation garden (pick-your-own herbs for CSA shareholders and grow and make several herbal products) and the seed garden (grows several varieties of seed for local distribution and promotes seed saving) rely on volunteers to keep these spaces in reasonable shape. Both have a weekly drop in volunteer time on Wednesdays 4-6 pm. For more information, please contact Wendy at firstname.lastname@example.org or 240-3734.
Consider making a donation today to support life-changing experiences learning about food and farming and to provide tons of good food to low-income families.
