Description
Simply sauteed
Ingredients
| 4 | c | green beans |
| 3⁄4 | c | pecans (coarsely chopped) |
| 3 | T | olive oil |
| 2 | clv | garlic |
| oz | salt and peper (to taste) |
Instructions
Preparation:
Pour olive oil in a large skillet and heat over medium flame. When oil is hot, add garlic and sautee for one minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic. Once the garlic aroma is strong, add green beans, salt and pepper. Sautee beans 10-15 minutes, until they are slightly tender but still crisp. Add pecans and sautee 5 minutes more. Serve warm.
Notes
For bacon-lovers this recipe is delicious with bite size bacon pieces. Cook the bacon first and sautee the green beans in the bacon fat (instead of olive oil), adding olive oil if needed. Then just at the end, toss in the crumbled bacon pieces to warm them before serving.
