The goal of our Food Share program is community food security, where all residents of our city can access a safe and nutritious diet through a sustainable food system that maximizes community self-reliance and social justice.
The Food Share program works towards it’s goal in the following ways:
Sponsored Shares
We provide subsidized CSA shares of farm produce to low-income families who want to be part of a community supporting local agriculture. Sponsored Share members pay as they can, when they can, and only if they can. We encourage you to let us know you’re interested by filling out our interest form!
WE SERVE 120+ INDIVIDUALS IN OUR COMMUNITY WITH SPONSORED SHARES ANNUALLY. IF YOU’D LIKE TO APPLY FOR A SPONSORED SHARE, CONTACT US TODAY!
SNAP Shares
We offer discounted CSA shares of farm produce to low-income families who have SNAP benefits and want to be a part of a community supporting local agriculture. CSA is a SNAP with this new pilot program, a collaboration with the Hudson Valley CSA Coalition. We encourage you to apply today by filling out our interest form!
SHARES ARE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FOR NEW MEMBERS WITH SNAP BENEFITS. IF YOU HAVE SNAP AND WOULD LIKE TO JOIN OUR CSA, READ MORE HERE!
Sharing the Harvest
Twice a week, we donate produce to soup kitchens, food pantries, and shelters in our community. We help ensure that high quality fresh food is part of the diet of those who use these services.
Check out our recent project: Food Share Mapping: Growing Community Through the Food Share Program at Poughkeepsie Farm Project. The StoryMap explores how our Food Share Program makes PFP produce available in Poughkeepsie and all throughout the Hudson Valley. Scroll through to discover interactive maps and other content that illustrates our effort to grow community by sharing our harvest.
IN 2023, OUR COMMUNITY DONATED 30,000 LBS OF PRODUCE TO OUR SPONSORED SHARE FAMILIES AND EMERGENCY FOOD PROVIDERS AT A TOTAL VALUE OF $70,000. WANT TO BE A COMMUNITY PARTNER?
